Objectives

SRT® is designed to generate a return of up to $60 for each dollar spent on program costs, through preventing school dropouts and retaining school revenue.

Four specific project objectives, based upon SRT results in 11 states, are as follow:

Decrease the long-term suspension/dropout rate for served high school students at targeted schools by 50%.
Decrease the school disciplinary referral rate for all students participating in SRT classes by 50% compared to the semester prior to referral.
Increase successful completion of the next year of school by 50% for suspended and expelled high school and middle school students re-entering targeted schools that receive SRT.
Provide support for parents and families of high-risk youth so that the entire system is pulling together in learning SRT skills and acting from a position of personal responsibility.
