History of SRT®
After working for many years in human services and corrections, Dr. Lane Lasater and Dr. Ken Robinson created SRT in 2001 after an initial successful application of Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT©), a corrections based cognitive behavioral curriculum, with high risk-high school students in Billings, MT. Lane and Ken were excited about the possibility of reaching at risk youth and families before they became involved in the criminal justice system and developed SRT as a school-friendly application of MRT© principles.
Dr. Ken Robinson and Dr. Greg Little developed MRT© for corrections in 1987. Since that time this cognitive behavioral program has been used with over 600,000 offenders in 43 states, showing a well-replicated 30% reduction in recidivism. Correctional Counseling Incorporated (CCI) in Memphis, TN (www.ccimrt.com) distributes MRT©.
